New General update

Hi, I am well retired, honestly doing darn near nothing, but not at all bored nor watching much tv. I keep busy . So far.
Some good news is I sold the old 36" Sony Monster TV via Craigs List. Ashley gets credit here for pushing me, I was worried about just giving it away and somehow getting it the heck out of here... the old 36" Sony Monster TV and the purchaser brought help and moved it out of here, along with some other junk.
It has been replaced by a very updated flat plasma tv and also some nice sound. The family room is much better , cleaner and now has much more room. The new tv is a 60 " pioneer plasma , along with some sort of audio controller and some stand up speakers. The Plasma goes nicely right in front of the fireplace on the nice tiled platform and looks fine. Hopefully the fake fireplace stays off.
I also got the unused VCR and old crappy home entertainment dvd junk sold -out of there and I removed the Xbox and Wii into the closet.
I had to hook up a ps3 to run 1080p blu ray disks. The ps3 may be the best of the 3 gaming machines-, It really easily hooks up to internet wireslessly and really does play blu ray disks fine. I am too cheap to buy any games, I can reconnect the other things up. The Xbox does not but has lots games to it. The Wii is great technology, but not too lasting for me- It wants you to exercise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next time I'll put in some photos . Too lazy. Actually I am here since I stuck that silly Chrome Google Browser in and for some wierd reason I got my old Blog up.
I have spent some time each day doing my financials and have to say that My stock results since retirement are like those Las Vegas gamblers. Lose or Lie. I do not lie too much.
Diana is happy and that is about it for that subject.

Chinese Friends Wen Bei Zhu and Mr Mei

我們有一個好隊從中國。Mei 先生和朱女士活在上海和參觀波士頓為工作。他們工作為Foxboro Company 和回到Foxboro 為他們的第三次參觀。

Ramblings and such

It's February and retirement is set for April 3, a good time to stop working . The good old Foxboro / Invensys has seen near the last of me , as this is bd.

Diana has definitely slowed up so to speak and as much as I say here, The winter days are short and cold.

Ah we all went to a local Motor Home RV show today, and I sure liked the new fangled motorhomes. If only they had a 4 wheel drive thing that acted like my Jeeps, i go for one. Oh they can tow anything......
There is no way that photo is a consideration. They took a truck, made it into a very nice RV and attached a very nice price to it..... Now it would likely last a million miles...... The ones I and we like are 40 ft Etc pushers and diesel's along with LCD and analog Tv's inside.

Pop Outs very common, nice motors, generators and quality. Big diesels, Big tanks and good electronics...

Pict of the Good One my Q6600

This is the Q6600 that I mentioned before. I added a picture of it, The results are that it is easy to overclock to about 25% and more . The memory also can go from 800 upwards to 1000, although I tend to run at 800-900, whatever the Gigabyto p65 board determines. the is runs circles around the p4 293 server guy and also seems faster than the Oc'ed dual e6400 done last year.

February 2008 Brilliant New, build NOT .
Ok heres this deal. My Old Dell has had most of its guts replaced, then in January the thing bit the dust, so AHA Igot me a new motherboard and case MB a cheapy from new egg to support the old p4 3 gig . The case has 3 temp indicators . Cheap.
When I got it all from New Egg, Put together and nothing OOPS the agp card was kapoot, OOPS on me. After a week awaiting a new $28 . video card presto chango , here she is.
This is my so called apache server box vista business from old disk and she's back I have no Dell parts left . A very good thing.
Now I bet you are wondering all this since the video card died and you did NOT figure that out. OK I am sure the Dell MB went at the exact same time OK. Anyhow now I can OC the thing and the case does look nice. Did you note the fans, The new video card seems to get hot - thats since I like cheap hot cards and I guess I will try to underclock it anyhow .

November 11 update

Hi, my old 6 month old motherboard took a turn for the bad, so I sent only it back to new egg, after getting a new Gigabyto p35-ds3l MB.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the New Board
Much better to overclock and very dynamic. PS New Egg refunded me the whole 152$ , even though no box, no this that and they must just love my business.
Actually got me 2 of these things so I am somewhat on the high horsepower side of things

The new MB
q6600 overclocked easily to 9 x 333 (25%) and seems to run a 9x 360 even 380 . At 400 (50%) for a while before she crashes, probably needs a tad more voltage, nothing I am that excited about.
A big thermalake 120 mm fan keeps it cool . On this build I have 3 regular 80 mm fans blowing right at the MB and a little pretty memory fans . So I do keep the SB and NB along wioth video card and such cooler.

Maybe i'll stick a picture of this in this blog.

OKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Its getting to be winter and house fixes have been accomplished. That is to say known major things are appearing OK.
Faucets, hot water heating problems, thermostats, 1 AC bit the dust, I fixed 1other- electrical luckily.

And Diana is so to say proceeding along.

I am nearing that " See You Later " phase at Invensys- Foxboro and will be cutting more hours .

the 4 gigs of much cheaper pc2-6400 (800) seems to hum right along at 1000 with volt up .1 volt. She does not get too hot . It sure pumps out the test numbers and Vista is fine on it.
